The application of non-invasive laser therapy (LLLT), or Laser hair therapy, to handle hair loss was initially discovered by accident — with lab mice.
Researchers were testing laser wounds, where the hair around the wound has been shaved. What they noticed in the mice getting LLLT versus those who were not getting LLLT along with hair rejuvenation.that their hair grew back faster.
Since then, and for over 30 years, researchers and hair recovery therapists have been using the technique on people.
How laser hair treatment safely restores hair growth
To love how LLLT is secure, it is helpful to understand how it works.
LLLT approaches treating thinning fur from a noninvasive station. Equipment varies somewhat, but between 112 and 118 laser diodes are directed in the entire scalp, typically implemented in a head cap (it can also be determined using a handheld comb).
The light is at the 630- to 670-nanometer variety, which is where the shade red occurs on the light spectrum. The power of this light is at low wattage, allowing it to stay cool throughout the process.
The vulnerability of the scalp to those very small beams of light is known as photobiology, which induces reactions on both chemical and physical levels. Hair follicles, particularly the very little hairs on follicles where reduction is progressing, absorb this light.
The response occurs on an intracellular level, where cytochrome c, an enzyme, sends photochemical signals through the hair follicle.
