If you’re looking to buy a new laptop and your budget is under $300, you might have more options than you think. The main decision will be whether you want to get a Chromebook or a Windows laptop. I highly recommend reading this post on the best-looking laptops under $300, as it should help you get a better idea of what’s available in the market right now.
Looks Do Matter When It Comes To Laptops
A good-looking laptop should be slim and lightweight. This would automatically rule out most Windows laptops, as they tend to be quite heavy. The only exception to this is the HP Stream. It is a beautiful-looking laptop that comes in 2 sizes. You could opt for either the 13.3” or 11.6” screen. It comes in multiple colors and looks really nice. It’s not underpowered, and runs most programs very well. I was actually quite surprised at its $229 price tag.
While the HP Stream looks pretty nice, Chromebooks tend to look much nicer. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 for example, looks awesome and is, in my opinion, the best looking laptop under $300. It’s extremely lightweight and well built. The material looks to be of aluminum, which is a surprise, as this is reserved for more expensive laptops. Having tested this laptop in person, I can definitely say that the Toshiba Chromebook 2 looks absolutely beautiful and is a bargain at just under $300.
The Asus Chromebook is another option you could go for. It looks similar to the very popular Nexus 7 tablet. It’s quite cheap as well, and costs a little over $250. Personally, I prefer the Toshiba Chromebook 2 because of the aluminum finish, but some people might prefer the black color on the Asus Chromebook. Either way, both are excellent options.
It’s actually quite surprising how you can buy such good-looking laptops for under $300 today. A couple of years ago, a laptop that looked remotely decent easily cost more than $500.
