I don't jump on the bandwagon just because something is trending or it's the new thing to do. This is why I am not rushing to purchase MRE meals. Sure, there's always a chance that a disaster can occur and I won't have anything to eat, but I figure I will find something to eat.
One reason why I don't buy MRE meals is because many people have told me how bad they taste. I don't want to pay a bunch of money for food that doesn't even taste good. For some reason, I do not like the idea of spending money on something I will probably throw up.
Another reason why I am not rushing to buy MRE meals is because they are expensive. I consider myself thrifty and spending around $9 per pack does not appeal to me. I can spend far less money by stocking up on Spam and Vienna sausages.
I have a family member who is in the military. I am sure he could easily get MRE meals, which is another reason why I don't want to purchase them. Plus, if I am stuck in a disaster and I am hungry, I am sure my family member will have a few MRE meals to give me. I am pretty sure that the MRE meals they will have on hand will be packed with many calories, so I wouldn't have to worry about going hungry or anything like that.
I am probably coming off a bit negative when I discuss MRE meals. However, I am cheap and don't like to spend cash on such things. With that said, I am aware that people have different views about this, and I respect that. However, I don't see myself purchasing MRE meals anytime soon, but if you want to buy them, then go right ahead.
